The cheapest social media schedulers in 2026 (real math)
Updated August 16, 2026
The plain-English version
The cheapest scheduler depends on your setup. Solo with a couple of accounts? Zoho Social (about $15) or Pallyy's $15 Starter win. Want a free plan? Buffer has a real one. Posting one brand everywhere, including X, with people helping you? Flat-price tools win: the per-channel and per-seat meters on the cheap plans quietly double them. This guide shows the real math so you can pick in five minutes.
Why sticker prices mislead
Most schedulers advertise the price of their smallest shape: one user, a few accounts, no add-ons. The price you pay is different, because real use adds three meters:
- Channels or profiles. Many entry plans include 5 accounts. One brand on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X is seven.
- People. Extra team members cost $2 to $10 each per month on most cheap plans.
- Add-ons. X (Twitter) is a paid extra on some tools. Analytics is a paid extra on others.
The real math: one brand, 7 platforms
Prices below are from each tool's public pricing page as of August 2026, monthly billing. The scenario: one brand posting to all seven major platforms.
- Pallyy: Pro at $25/month for a full set, solo. The $15 Starter covers just 2 accounts, and team seats wait for the Agency plan.
- Zoho Social: about $15/month (about $10 billed annually) for 1 brand, 1 user. More users means higher tiers.
- SocialPilot: $20/month covers only 5 accounts. Seven platforms needs the $40 plan.
- Post Bridge: from $9/month for 5 accounts, $18/month for 15. Repriced in 2026; the cheapest serious cross-poster right now.
- Publer: about $29/month solo for 7 accounts. Analytics lives on the higher tier, about $52.
- SocialBee: $29/month covers only 5 profiles. Seven needs the $49 plan. Each teammate is $10.
- Buffer: about $35/month solo (7 channels at $5). With a team it doubles to about $70.
- Unbusied: $33/month flat. All 7 platforms, X included, unlimited posts, and up to 5 team seats in that number.
Cheapest by situation
- Just starting, no budget: Buffer's free plan (3 channels, 10 scheduled posts each) is real and good.
- Solo, Instagram-first: Pallyy. The grid planner is great and Pro at $25 is strong value.
- Solo, all 7 platforms, watching every dollar: Post Bridge (from $9, accounts tiered) and Publer (about $29) come in under Unbusied. We'd rather tell you that than hide it.
- One brand everywhere, with help: Unbusied at $33 flat. The cheap tools' per-seat and per-channel meters pass $33 the moment a helper or an add-on shows up.
- Many brands as an agency: SocialPilot's account ladder gets efficient at volume.
Watch for these meters
- Post caps: Later's Starter allows 30 posts per profile per month. Planable's Basic allows 60, and one post sent to 3 platforms counts as 3.
- X as an add-on: Vista Social charges $29/month extra for X. Metricool also treats X as a paid add-on.
- Analytics as an add-on: Planable charges $12/month extra. Publer keeps analytics on its higher tier.
- Team pricing: Buffer doubles every channel's rate for team access. SocialBee charges $10 per person, and Pallyy holds team seats for its Agency plan.
Common questions
What is the cheapest social media scheduler?
For one person with a couple of accounts, Zoho Social at about $15/month, or Pallyy's $15 Starter (2 accounts; a full set is $25). For a free start, Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels. For one brand on all seven platforms with a teammate, flat-price tools like Unbusied ($33/month, everything included) end up cheapest once the per-channel and per-seat meters are counted.
Is there a good free social media scheduler?
Buffer's free plan is the best one: 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel, no time limit. Metricool's free tier covers 1 brand and 20 posts a month but leaves out LinkedIn and X. Publer's free tier covers 3 accounts, also without X.
What is a flat-rate social media scheduler?
A tool with one price that doesn't change with channels, seats, or posts. Unbusied is one: $33/month per brand covers all seven platforms, unlimited posts, and up to 5 team members. The alternative model meters each of those separately.
Why is X (Twitter) extra on some schedulers?
X charges tools for API access, so some pass it on as an add-on (Vista Social: $29/month) and some dropped X entirely (Later). Unbusied and Buffer include X in their normal pricing.
Do cheap schedulers limit how much you can post?
Some do. Later caps Starter at 30 posts per profile per month. Planable's Basic caps at 60 posts, and cross-posts count once per platform. Metricool's free tier caps at 20, as does Pallyy's $15 Starter. Buffer, Publer, Pallyy Pro, and Unbusied don't cap posts.
