Guides
How to schedule Threads posts (2 ways)
Updated August 16, 2026
The plain-English version
Yes, you can schedule Threads posts. There are two ways. The Threads app can save drafts and schedule posts, one at a time, from your phone. A scheduler like Unbusied lets you batch many Threads posts on a calendar, from your computer, and send the same idea to your other platforms at the same time. This guide covers both.
Way 1: Schedule inside the Threads app
Threads added basic scheduling to its own app. Write your post, open the menu from the compose screen, and choose to schedule it. It works, with limits:
- One post at a time, from your phone.
- No calendar view of the week, so it is hard to see your plan.
- Threads only. Your other platforms still need their own posting.
If you post to Threads once in a while, this is all you need. The app is free and it works.
Way 2: Use a scheduler
A scheduler talks to Threads through Meta's official Threads API, the same door Meta built for apps. That unlocks batching. In Unbusied it looks like this:
- Connect your Threads account once in Settings.
- Write your post in the composer. Text, photos, video, and carousels all work on Threads.
- Select Threads (and any other platforms) and pick your times.
- The posts publish on schedule. If one ever fails, you get an email and a one-tap retry.
The win is the calendar: a week of Threads posts in one sitting, next to your Instagram, Facebook, and everything else.
What can and can't be scheduled on Threads
- Works scheduled: text posts, photos, videos, and multi-photo carousels.
- By hand only: interactive extras like polls. Those work when you post live in the app.
Common questions
Can you schedule posts on Threads?
Yes, two ways. The Threads app itself can schedule a post at a time. Schedulers like Unbusied use Meta's official Threads API to schedule text, photos, videos, and carousels in batches on a calendar.
Can I schedule Threads posts from my computer?
With a scheduler, yes. That's one of the main reasons to use one: write on a real keyboard, plan on a calendar, and publish to Threads and your other platforms from one place.
Does scheduling Threads posts hurt reach?
No. Scheduled posts go through Meta's official API and publish like any other post. Reach comes from the content and how people respond to it.
Does Unbusied support Threads?
Yes. Threads is one of the seven platforms included in Unbusied's flat $33/month, alongside Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X.
