How to schedule YouTube videos (Studio or a scheduler)
Updated August 16, 2026
The plain-English version
Yes, you can schedule YouTube videos, and YouTube's own Studio does it for free: upload, set visibility to Schedule, pick a time. If YouTube is your only platform, use that and you're done. A scheduler earns its place when YouTube is one of many platforms: one calendar for everything, Shorts and full videos next to your Reels and TikToks, batched in one sitting.
Way 1: Schedule in YouTube Studio (free)
- Upload your video at studio.youtube.com.
- Fill in the title, description, and thumbnail.
- On the Visibility step, choose Schedule and pick the date and time.
- The video goes public on its own at that moment.
This is built in and it works well. YouTube also premieres scheduled videos if you want the countdown page.
Way 2: Schedule YouTube with your other platforms
If you also post to Instagram, TikTok, and the rest, the juggle is the problem: Studio for YouTube, another app for each platform. A scheduler puts them on one calendar. In Unbusied:
- Connect your YouTube channel once.
- Attach your video, write the title and description, and set visibility, playlists, and the audience setting right in the composer.
- Select YouTube plus your other platforms, pick times, done.
- Full videos and Shorts both work. A vertical video posts as a Short.
Which way should you use?
- YouTube only? Use Studio. It's free and native.
- YouTube plus other platforms? A scheduler saves the juggle and keeps the whole week visible in one place.
- A team? A scheduler lets a helper prepare uploads without channel passwords.
Common questions
Can you schedule YouTube videos for free?
Yes. YouTube Studio has scheduling built in: upload, choose Schedule on the visibility step, and pick a time. No extra tool needed if YouTube is your only platform.
Can you schedule YouTube Shorts?
Yes, both in Studio and through schedulers. A vertical video posts as a Short. In Unbusied, the same vertical clip can go to YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook in one scheduled post.
Why use a scheduler instead of YouTube Studio?
One calendar for every platform. If your video also goes to Reels and TikTok, a scheduler publishes all of them from one composer instead of three apps. Unbusied also sets title, visibility, playlists, and the made-for-kids setting per video.
Can a team member schedule videos without my YouTube password?
With a scheduler, yes: connect the channel once, and teammates in your Unbusied Social Set can schedule uploads without any YouTube credentials. (If they need Studio access instead, see our guide on connecting a YouTube channel you manage.)
